I have updated Qmailtoaster for the new distros. x86_64 support is **not** included with these packages.

The updated packages are to simply allow you to install Qmailtoaster under Fedora 9, Fedora 10, and Suse 11.1. No other changes were made to the packages (with the exception of the Squirrelmail patch; it was cleaned up to compile correctly under these newer distros).

I wanted to get the packages out last Wednesday but I made several attempts at getting the packages to compile under Fedora 10 x86_64 and Suse 11.1 x86_64 while not spending a lot of time doing so. I made the mistake of using the Suse 11.1 network install CD instead of just downloading the DVD so installation took 3 hours before I could even test it. Long and short is that the new distros are using new libraries and/or new library names and it would be counterproductive to add x86_64 support for these distros by patching source code when I should be focusing my time on the next version of Qmailtoaster.

The updated packages are on the main site as well as updated scripts for the distros. I did not fully test the Fedora 9 scripts, but they worked under Fedora 10 so I do not see a major issue with them working under Fedora 9.

Here is the link in the News relating to the new version and new distros:

I have added support for Fedora 9, Fedora 10, and Suse 11.1 to the current
packages.
x86_64 support for these new distros was **not** added. The distros have
changed names/libraries and some packages (mainly simscan)
do not compile correctly with the new libraries. I did not want to spend a lot of time on fixing these issues and patching source code when I plan on changing the direction of the project anyway.

Fedora 9 can be compiled for by:
rpmbuild --rebuild --with fedora_9 {package-name}

Fedora 10 can be compiled for by:
rpmbuild --rebuild --with fedora_10 {package-name}

Suse 11.1 can be compile for by:
rpmbuild --rebuild --with sus111 {package-name}

I decided to change the compilation flags for Fedora to alleviate any
confusion/naming issues with older distributions.

After the new release of Qmailtoaster comes out I may revisit bringing these
packages up to date so they will compile under x86_64
distros; this will mainly involve upgrading from Simscan 1.3.1 to Simscan
1.4.x. If anyone has the experience (and hardware) and
is able to build these packages in a way that conforms to the current standard
then please contact me and I will post the updated
packages. I will be focusing on the new version of Qmailtoaster and will not
have any time to dwell on the old version of the
packages.

Thanks.
