Sorry, coming into the conversation late.
These errors are usually either caused by a full disk (already ruled
out) or a permission/ownership problem with the directory (or
occasionally a log file). Usually means it couldn't access the
/var/qmail/queue dir specifically.
Just posted this for historical reference in the event someone comes
across a similar issue.
