I just applied "qtp-newmodel" yesterday. I ran into a few issues that
are noteworthy. I don't update my server that often so I find I need to
troubleshoot the same problems every time.
- Admin Toaster password resets back to "toaster"
- If any of the supervise softlimits are set, they are reset back to
default. Mine like to run at 64000000 although I haven't tried to dial
them back, the stock values don't work.
These are both controlled by the rpm package itself. I think Jake can
tweak the spec so that the relevant files are treated as config(noreplace).
- If you had disabled Domain keys, you'll have to disable them after
newmodel again.
I don't see a way to get around this.
I'm not sure what Eric or Jake can do to preserve some of these settings
or if we should just keep our own notes on things to check after updating.
It's always a good idea to keep notes of any changes you make to the
'stock' toaster.
On that note, if you're running spamdyke and upgrade the qmail-toaster
package, I believe that you'll need to fix up the symlink to the
/var/qmail/supervise/smtp/run file in order to get spamdyke running
again. Rerunning the install script might do this for you unless it
recognizes that the current version is already installed and does
nothing. I don't remember off hand what the install script does in that
situation.
