Can you give us a real domain name of IP address to test with from here?
I'd like to run a test telnet session from here, but I know GMail works
fine.
Since you emptied your blacklist file, have you "qmailctl restart"ed?
Do you have adequate disk space?
Do your smtp logs show anything as you're trying to telnet in?
