Dear list, I am getting trouble receiving mail from a specific mailserver. Following the spamdyke log.... Oct 19 15:37:03 ariel spamdyke[6701]: DENIED_RDNS_RESOLVE from: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> to: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> origin_ip: 193.88.99.136 origin_rdns: mail.tdchweb.dk auth: (unknown)
Now I fixed the problem with:
rdns-whitelist-entry=193.88.99.136
in /etc/spamdyke.conf.
My question is: if "193.88.99.136" correctly resolve in "mail.tdchweb.dk" why spamdyke is dropping the incoming mail ? Can someone explain me ? Thanks for all the work..... *Alberto Maffini* +39.348.3677402

Here's a test:
shu...@edwin:~$ host 193.88.99.136
136.99.88.193.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer mail.tdchweb.dk.
shu...@edwin:~$ host mail.tdchweb.dk
mail.tdchweb.dk mail is handled by 10 qmail.tdcwebmore.dk.
shu...@edwin:~$

There is no type A record for the mail.tdchweb.dk host. The name pointer does not resolve successfully to any address, which is what the DENIED_RDNS_RESOLVE message indicates.

I would attempt to contact the domain administrator about the problem.
