Dear List,
I am interested to use the barracuda RBL in my qmailtoaster server,
I have registered to www.barracudacentral.org
<http://www.barracudacentral.org>.
Is it enough to append
-r b.barracudacentral.org <http://b.barracudacentral.org> in my
/var/qmail/control/blacklists file?
Yes it is. I use it on several of my servers. You will occasionally
get false positives, so beware. I see one FP every 3 months or so.
Just a reminder for spamdyke users, that the blacklists file isn't
used with spamdyke. Use your /etc/spamdyke/spamdyke.conf file instead. ;)
thank for hint, but is it really worthed to add another Blacklist on my
system? because I do not want legit email blocked (this is worse than
spam that can get thru)
I am already using spamdyke, spamhaus & spamcop, spamassassin,
SaneSecurity unofficial clamav db + a Watchguard Firewall w/ antispam
feature activated
and number of spam received on my box is very minimal (one a day?)
I doubt that barracudacentral will buy you much. I also expect that the
antispam feature on your Watchguard Firewall isn't catching anything
that wouldn't be caught by everything else you have. That's just a hunch
though.
ps: when start using spamdyke (July) there are no longer "SMTP Denied"
value indicator on qmailmrtg (section Smtp Allow/Deny), is it normal
This is a bug. Should be easy to fix. Would someone care to track it
down? The log messages with spamdyke are different, so this isn't
getting picked up. It'd be interesting to see this, as I expect it would
in reality be quite a bit higher with spamdyke.
