I have not tried CRAM-MD5 (or SHA1) in Qmail yet, but when I have
set it up on Postfix I find that most clients either do not support
it outright (older mailers like Bat! do, but most of the newer ones
do not), or they do not implement it correctly so it's been
something I've never pursued.
Also remember that Qmailtoaster is using qmail's pop3d daemon, not
courier's pop3 daemon ;)
I was referring to imapd, which on my old toaster offered this. But
since, as Eric pointed out, SSL will be initiated before
authentication, this should not matter.
Thanks!!
