Dear Madmac, If you haven't selected the ldapserver during os installation its not there but you can install later on also.
yum -y install openldap-server this command will install openldap-server and other necessary packages for you. Internet connectivity is a must if you are installing using yum or else u can install openldap-server rpm from the dvd/cd of your distro also.
