That's true. Running sa-stats without any options will process /var/log/qmail/spamd/current. Also, you can't pipe to it, but it will process an arbitrary file or files with names matching a regex. Check out sa-stats --help.

If anyone's interested, I have a script that copies spamassassin log entries dated yesterday from recent log files into a temp file, runs sa-stats against the temp file, and emails me the result every day.
