I setup a test email to use pop3 with SSL,
no timeout what so ever
would it be anything to do with installing, and sbsequently disabling
spamdyke?
Currently setting up a New test box, no spamdyke, will report back soon.

I decided to restrore from backup, but get the same error.
The second server is runnining the " qmail replication " so it has the
same mysql errors as the main server.
Tests:
I can use the webmail and IMAP with no problems,
No matter what client machine I use we get the same timeouts.
Again, let's see the log messages.
Logs:
/var/log/qmail/pop3/current , shows loads of
tcpserver: status: 3/200
tcpserver: status: 2/200
tcpserver: status: 4/200
What do these status mean:?
When a session is started or stopped, this message is issued. It shows how
many sessions are currently running (3 out of 200 max, 2, 4).
with various Pids : tcpserver: end 12556 status 256
I see these in my pop3 log as well. AFAIK, they're normal. Why they're not
status 0, I don't know. I haven't had any complaints from anyone who's
using pop. Come to think of it though, my users *should* be using
pop3-ssl. I'm seeing messages mostly from crackers. I should probably just
turn off pop3.
/var/log/maillog:
vchkpw-pop3: (PLAIN) login success etc etc
vchkpw-pop3: (APOP) login success, etc etc
Last test:
I rebuilt a spare Server, using my CentQMT5-1.2.0.iso did all the yum
updates, ran qtp-menu, new model update, NO errors,
Imported the mysqldump, from main server,
Setup an account for testing,
Still getting timeouts on the new build.
However:
Our Canadian qmail servers ( two ) same setup , same updates, ( even in
same server room ) we have no problems.
Are they getting status 0 on pop log?
My guess is that perhaps the pop timeouts could be related to the client
program being used. I believe that the "status 256" messages I'm seeing
from legit users are coming from Outlook'03.
