So I decided to try and build a Very secure qmail, Note Qmail server is secure, I just had " holes " in mine, Any hoo: I Used VMware workstaion 6 to rebuild. Remade using Centos 5.4 ISO. Used " thin" hard drive , 100 Gb Set the RAM to 512Mb All updates added of April 20 2010 root password = password ( ssh login disabled) mailadmin password = QmailToaster ( sudoer , so you should login ssh as this user) IP address = 192.168.1.2 sub-net = 255.255.255.0 gateway = 192.168.1.1 ns1 = 75.154.132.68 ns1 = 75.154.132.100 dns search = telus.net mysql root passwd : QmailToaster Added: Cron to clean trash, Clean spam. Added Maildrop and Qcontrol IPE. Added more rules to spamassassin Added firewall rules from Atomic Linux ( 14798 IPs ) Added spamdyke Added 400+ blacklist_ip to spamdyke Added 9728 blacklist_sender to spamdyke Added fail2ban. Added mod_ssl and openssl Created self signed cert, Disabled port 80 Login via https://192.168.1.1/qcontrol webmail https://192.168.1.1/webmail
Feel free to change any settinigs, especially the ***passwords *** add or remove anything to make it work for you. No tweeking of the VM guest settings done The VM is a RAR compressed file, you will need Winrar, or unrar to extract the files.
