Eric S., Thanks, I thought I was already using spamdyke and found, upon further investigation and after utilizing the submission port, that the '../smtp/run' file was no longer a link to '../smtp/run.spamdyke' but was recreated and using the blacklists file. This '../smtp/run' file had a creation date that corresponds to the day I upgraded the Toaster, so, I think, it was recreated that day. When I upgraded spamdyke, today, the link to the 'run.spamdyke' file was recreated. So, you would recommend implementing spamdyke by linking the '../submission/run' to '../submission/run.spamdyke' similar to what is being done in the SMTP supervise directory?
By the way, what is the purpose of the submission server? I'm not certain how the mobile phones handle submissions, so I was guessing to some degree. Looks now as though you had the old RBL problem. This happened as well with users submitting from dynamic IP addresses, which is quite common. There are 2 general solutions. One is to use port 587 for submission, and the other is to use spamdyke. Either one works for bypassing RBLs for authenticated sessions. Personally, I recommend using both. :) -- -Eric 'shubes' Eric Broch wrote: > Helmut, > > Thanks, the submission port works great! > > Eric B. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Helmut Fritz [mailto:hel...@phpwebservices.com] > Sent: Monday, April 26, 2010 11:47 AM > To: qmailtoaster-list@qmailtoaster.com > Subject: RE: [qmailtoaster] Re: verizon and sprint > > Seems likely it may be the standard ISP ploy of not allowing smtp on port 25 > so they can control email going out of their domain.
