0.96.1 is in testing now - it was just released on the 19th.
This particular bug will not impact your system as bad as you think.
clamav is handled by daemontools, so if a malicious PDF comes in and
does per-chance happen to crash your clamav daemon, daemontools will
start it back up within a couple seconds.
