It's more likely your server is getting hammered with SPAM, and connections are timing out. Look at the e-mail headers on the first duplicate message and see if the header is missing Spamassassin scoring/header information. It will most likely have ???'s in place of the scores.
What I've seen is, when you server gets hammered, Spamassassin bogs down and takes too long to process the message. This causes the sending server to resend the message after timing out. You could also look through your logs for "TIMEOUT", I believe. If you're not running SpamDyke, do. It pretty much kills the issue with Spamassassin getting overloaded, and eliminates, at least this cause for duplicates. Michael J.
