All other packages appeared to build without any problems. This system
has had all of it's yum updates and has been rebooted.
Ideas, please?

I had a COS5.4 QMT (kernel 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5) that gave me segfault on
clamav-0.96.1, and the chown error on clamav-0.96.0. I did "yum remove
dkms fuse", rebooted, retried clamav-0.96.0. and got the seg fault:
/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.1.2/../../../../include/c++/4.1.2/bits/stl_algo.h:241:
internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
Tried rerunning qtp-newmodel immediately again w/ a new sandbox (chaning
nothing else), and the bzip bombed unzipping the source.
Tried rerunning qtp-newmodel immediately again w/ a new sandbox, and
segfault again.
Then tried installing fuse and fuse-unionfs from rpmforge repo, segfault
again:
llvm/lib/CodeGen/AsmPrinter/DwarfDebug.cpp:78: internal compiler error:
Segmentation fault
At least the inconsistency is beginning to feel consistent. :P
Time to ponder a bit.
