I think that with the size of HDDs these days, LVM is a layer of complexity that has little to no benefit any more. Since you really want everything mirrored on raid-1 anyway, I simply start with that, then add more pairs in raid-10 if needed (as opposed to putting LVM on top of raid-1).

How much storage are you needing?

Has anyone tried setting this up on a system that is using LVM? Is that
going to over-complicate things, or should it be pretty straight forward?

Just wondering if anyone out there has followed Jake's QMT ISP Array
video series and setup up one of their own? I'm working on one myself
at the moment and just had a few questions. Should I use my copy of
QMT5-ISO to begin building one of my backend servers, or should I take
another approach?

What would be the best way to tackle this, if I wanted to build on my
current configuration and convert my primary mail server into one of
the backend servers? The scenario at the moment is that I'm running a
QMT box on CentOS 5, and just got a 2nd server built and ready to
install an OS on, and I'm trying to figure out how I should set this
new box up. Ultimately I'd like the existing server and the new one to
be the primary and secondary backend servers, and then I'd bring in my
current filtering servers to become the inbound and outbound servers
depending upon the quality of the machine, and how it handles its
current load.
