Thx Pak.

So I have figured out how to run sa-learn as vpopmail in anticipation of
your answer. All good there.

The users I can have influence over do not store their mail on the server
(smart host in front of exchange server, see other thread as well) - I also
looked at a bounce/resend message header and did not really see a difference
in those header entries and the original except the from was from the actual
user now. (those users all use outlook 2007/2010) I could train the system
myself, but it would take a lot longer to do that as opposed to leveraging
5-7 users in the organization. I think exporting the initial emails as text
and them putting them n the server for sa-learn is the best unless the
script I put in the sa-learn-attach email would work.

Is there a way to merge two users databases?

you are correct sa-learn need to run as vpopmail user. see sample script at:
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Spamassassin#Multi-domain_sa-learn_ha
m.2Fspam_script

and do not forward spam/ham message but use bounce/redirect
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/How_to_redirect/bounce_mail_for_sa-le
arn

or implement spam button on webmail
