Saying that they're not being sent is better than "simply do not

would be more helpful.
Let's start with the logs (always a good place to start).
There should be some sort of entry in the send log. Is there something
or nothing in the logs which correspond to the email that's not being
sent? I would guess nothing, but these things need to be verified.
I am not sure we're on the same page. Brief explanation of my situation.
I see now that we're not. I was talking about fwds to external
addresses. Was that mentioned anywhere? ;)
Reading comprehension FTW.
I create forwards when I use forums or have to "sign up" for something.
It gives me a way of tracking who's selling or sharing my e mail
addresses. ie. [email protected] [email protected]
[email protected] [email protected]
I do this as well, although less frequently than I used to.
The other reason and why I still do it is to terminate communication if
needed.
Now, I always get my e mails from Fedex and was getting them from
Netflix and then not, but Craigslist didn't play nice with my forwards,
and Facebook complains. I know they were sending e mails but I never got
them. My netflix ones stopped, but now miraculously have started coming
in again. Facebook also complains that the e mail address is not valid.
I changed it from one forward to another and they seem to be happy for
the moment.
That's odd. I've never had a problem with this. I have quite a few
forwards, and never a hitch. I've always used qmailadmin for
maintaining them. I presume you're using the same? Have you ever
messed manually with the .qmail file?
Yes
I have confirmed that all of these forwards work by sending an e mail to
them from a gmail account.
In my situation I cannot check the sent logs since they reside with
fedex, craigslist, netflix and facebook respectively. I can see where if
you were forwarding from a QMT to a QMT where troubleshooting would be a
breeze.
You should be checking the smtp logs as well as the send logs. The
receipt of the original email should show in the smtp log, and the
forward(s) should should show in the send log. Sounds like in your
case though like the smtp receipt is failing (outside senders would
know nothing about your internal forwards).
They would know nothing about internal forwards, but should know about
rejections. I was assuming it's on the senders end since I can send to
them via gmail, but that may be a faulty assumption.
I would guess that your fwd name isn't being found for some odd
reason, and the smtp log would show a rejection (spamdyke would list
it as OTHER). What is your catchall setting? Perhaps that has
something to do with it.
I'll check the logs and see if there are any clues.
BL, if fwds work from gmail ok, then your problem with Netflix et al
is probably somewhere else, and not related to forwards.
