While some people don't appear to have a problem with QMT's spf
checking, I've seen this problem in the past as well, with false
positives. I expect it may have something to do with how the sender's
TXT record is defined, but I don't honestly know. As a result, I use a
setting of 1 in the /var/qmail/control/spfbehavior file.
In the meantime, I've requested SamC to add a spf checking feature to
spamdyke. I don't know how close to this is to the top of his feature
list, but I think it's the best place for it. Spamdyke's already doing
all sorts of DNS lookups, and one more won't break the bank.
So the long term plan for QMT's SPF checking is to let spamdyke handle
it once that feature's available. If anyone would like to see this
happen sooner than later, please let Sam know about it on the spamdyke list.
Thanks!
