There are no messages like dovecot in /var/log/messages. /var/log/maillog only shows the successful login of users, no error found in it. /proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_instances contains 128.

Increase /proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_instances Please check also the mail_max_userip_connections setting in /etc/dovecot/conf.d/20-imap.conf.
