Please tell us something about the installation. Is the dovecot-server within the same network as the clients? I understood, you have one Outlook holding more than hundred mailboxes? Or are there more installations having only one ore some mailboxes?

Have you added a value for mail_max_userip_connections in your /etc/dovecot/local.conf file? What value do you have? Did you restart dovecot after changing dovecot settings?
