The qt-bootstrap-1 script should have turned off selinux and rebooted.
The new SM configuration should be authenticating on port 587. Alex, can
you post your SM configuration file?
Personally, I run SM on another host which runs only phpfcgi, so
something may have been lost in the translation. ;) I have seen problems
with permissions in the /var/lib/squirrelmail and
/var/spool/squirrelmail directories with custom setups like mine, where
the php user runs SM instead of apache. This could be a red herring for
you though.
