Jim,

I've built a SA 3.4.0 SRPM and RPM for x86_64 COS5 and am going to test
it on my home server; however, SA 3.4.0 was tested with perl 5.18.2
according to its announcement
<http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/spamassassin/branches/3.4/build/announcements/3.4.0.txt>.
The latest (Perl) on COS 5 is perl-5.8.8 and on COS 6, perl-5.10.1. I've
asked about its compatibility with perl 5.8.8 and 5.10.1 and have been
met with positive, negative, and other vaguely encouraging remarks on
implementing with it lower version of Perl.

Eric
