I hang out on IRC quite a lot and it'd be great to have a qooxdoo support
channel.

I agree with Derrell in that there isn't a large userbase to provide much
support but in any case it is a good thing to have a place where newcomers
can be given direction.

See you in #qooxdoo :)

Yes. I think it's a bit premature, though. There aren't enough people with
enough knowledge yet to offer help even via email where it doesn't require
real-time access. As the project grows, I certainly anticipate that IRC
will
become an important part of our daily communication.

In the Samba project, we use IRC. Actually, there are a couple of channels
we
use: one for end-user help, and one for developer (of Samba) discussions.
When there are important issues being discussed on IRC, a summary of the
issues are presented in email to the mailing list to ensure widest
possibility
of input. With a large team, IRC is a great communication medium, but
still,
without the possibility of wide acceptance of direction, people feel
alienated. We certainly want to ensure that in qooxdoo, we don't do
anything
that will cause alienation.

Cheers,

Derrell
