Hello Tobias, for my single-page app I use Qooxdoo for the UI presentation and Java for the server-side logic. For client/server remoting I took JSON-RPC-Java. Qooxdoo has also its own JSON-RPC backend, but since it wasn't bundled into a jar I found it easier to stay with JSON-RPC-Java.
