I think you resource configuration is broken. To allow PNG transparency 
in IE you need to have the blank.gif which comes with qooxdoo in the 
expected path. Do your project use the skeleton system? Then it should 
normally work out of the box. Otherwise you must be sure to copy the 
resources yourself to the correct target paths.
