Well, I think we can live with that but however, I am not happy with the 
solution, because

1) we have to change our code :-(

2) I think that setting a value to null is a simple and intuitive way to 
clear a user defined value

3) I don't quite see the use case of "don't use any color" - isn't that 
the same thing as setting transparency/opacity to 100%? Or, as an 
example, what good is a text with *no* color?
