Very nice work and a really good documentation of what you have done and 
plan to do.

Just a few questions:

1. Will you support file upload widgets. e.g. the one by Dietrich in 
qooxdoo-contrib? I think this would be a natural enhancement for the 
"plain html forms" feature.
2. Any plans about supporting complex widgets like tree or table?

If you implement it could you consider to write a set of providers, 
which doesn't require a server backend but store the data in a local 
cache, e.g. unsing plain JSON? I think this makes it easier to get 
started and experiment with the new features.
