See http://bugzilla.qooxdoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=664 . The patch is for
0.7.x only as I can't test 0.6.x and trunk. But it's quite
straightforward.

I've tested in Opera, IE7 and IE6 and FF2.

Andreas, Sebastian: you should update your online demos ASAP to eliminate
a reason for rejecting qooxdoo.

Everyone using 0.7.x should apply this patch if they have code in
production. Similar changes should be made by 0.6.x users if you see
memory increasing with each AJAX request in IE.

I've also submitted a proposed patch for
http://bugzilla.qooxdoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=190 - "Internet Explorer
crashes in RPC tests". I'm guessing, though I haven't been able to test,
that properly cleaning up onreadystatechange in IE will prevent these
crashes.
