It's really sad that just because Microsoft needs to make their GUIs look
different so that they can sell new OS versions (even at the expense of a
valuable feature), others need to follow suit.

In any case, please make sure that whatever implementation the tree ends up
with does not prevent *easily* adding tree lines back in.  As you've seen,
there have been three people commenting on this topic so far, all stating
that they believe that tree lines should be available.
