Great you figured it out yourself, but if you encounter other issues you cannot resolve easily, you're of course welcome to use the mailing list. Documentation actually wasn't complete, but it's updated now to include the required "extend" key: http://qooxdoo.org/documentation/0.8/classes . The error messages when setting up classes could also be improved to be more helpful, there's bug #1433 for it already. It would be great to get more feedback and suggestions from you while getting started with qooxdoo.
