You can add windows to all classes, which implement IDesktop

Specifically this is the root widget, which is the default desktop, and 
the Desktop widget

You can create the desktop widget inside of any other widget. You need 
to explicitly add windows to a desktop using the .add() method since 
otherwise they are attached to the default desktop (the root). Windows 
cannot be dragged outside of a desktop.

I think its best to take a look at the code of the desktop demo 
<http://demo.qooxdoo.org/current/demobrowser/#widget~Desktop.html>.

Please note that we have fixed some bug related to the desktop widget 
after 0.8 so it might be necessary to use the trunk or wait for 0.8.1
