Hi Petr,
The term "table editing" is a bit of a misnomer. The tables themselves
don't allow editing; rather individual cells can be edited. You may
therefore want to think about whether you really want to put into place a
design that provides a single button for editing of the "table". Typically,
one double-clicks on a cell to edit it. That's the default behavior when
you set a column to be editable. In some cases, adding a single click event
handler to turn on editing for the cell makes sense. It's necessary,
though, to know what cell is being edited (the focused cell), so I'd caution
you to think hard about whether you really want a single button outside of
the table that begins editing.
To answer your question, if you still want to have a single button cause
editing to begin on the currently focused cell, you simply call
table.startEditing().
Cheers,
Derrell
