qooxdoo experts,
I just received the 0.8 SDK from a friend of mine. When I try to set up the
Hello World test application like in the manual, I get through to running
generate.py in the "custom" directory. I installed an x64 version of
ActivePython (and set python.exe to run as Administrator for all users). I
copied the entire webapp directory from my friend, so I had to put
qooxdoo-0.8-sdk into the root of my hard drive so it would match the process
in the manual. After I run create-application.py from the new SDK directory
in /qooxdoo-0.8-sdk, I run generate.py from the new /custom, but the output
shows it referencing the directory into which I first copied it.
"generate.py source-all" did not work, it said it was not an available job.
Just "generate.py source" is what I ended up trying. Regardless, it
terminated on a malformed expression. I noticed a conditional in
generate.py that takes it down a different control path for win32 than for
whatever an AMD Athlon 64 X2 under Vista x64 would come up as.
At the same time-possibly related otherwise I'd start a new post-no qooxdoo
elements were getting drawn in my browser. I loaded my friend's qooxdoo
project in my browser and the div elements have hardcoded heights so I can
see that all the HTML loads, and it did. It works perfectly well on his
computer. However, on mine, none of the JavaScript-coded elements were
being drawn. Not even non-qooxdoo JavaScript was running (he has another
JavaScript plugin). We were completely baffled by this. He brought me the
new version of his project today and suddenly it's working, but if that
helps diagnose the other problem, I thought it was worth mentioning. The
problem occurred in both IE7 and Firefox 3. We're both running Jetty (web
server) on a new Java VM. I'm running Vista x64 with SP1. My friend is
running XP on his x32 machine. I don't use Firefox, so it has all of its
default security settings: even if they got messed up in IE, it should have
worked in Firefox, since I hadn't changed anything in it.
Sorry for the long message, thanks for reading!
Jeff
