Hello Christian,

as alex said, there are no plans for backporting the data binding. But  
as you said, at least the single value binding layer relies on the  
property system and not on the widgets itself. The only thing you need  
is to have an property with an event. If you want to you can give it a  
try and copy the single value binding file to a 0.7 application and  
try it. But i cant promise you that it will work because i dont know  
all functions and methods changed from 0.7 to 0.8.
Perhaps you could let all of us know it if worked for you?
