We haven't had time here yet to investigate the Rpc class in detail. Although
a colleague and I think the place to start is the closures created by the
anonymous functions in _callInternal.

Given time we'll implement a version of Rpc without the anonymous functions
and see if that makes any difference. But it will not be for at least a
couple of weeks due to current commitments.
