John,
I see this weird behavior in my Firefox 2.0 version on Linux all the
time, not associated with a Qooxdoo app. I can usually get the
textfield to focus by clicking on another program window and clicking
back to get the textfield focus to work. I'm wondering if you're
experiencing the same odd behavior, but I'm not sure what causes it. It
seems to happen more after the browser has been up and running for a
number of days. You mentioned that tabbing works, but can you correct
it by changing the window focus back and forth, too?
On the other hand, it could be a problem in the Qooxdoo focus-handling,
so if that's the case, pay no attention to my comment.
