I'm not part of the qooxdoo team but I'm a fan/active user so my opinion is a bit biased... :-D Nevertheless, I can quickly provide my quick thoughts on the subjects. 1. Qooxdoo is more than safe, in my opinion. It seemed a good bet when we decided to use it as base for a few of our products and, increasingly, it seems getting better and better. 2. The future of qooxdoo can be seen in the project's roadmap [2]. How the actual future will be, I guess no one can tell. If you can, please send me the *real* lottery numbers, as I'm already winning fake lotteries a few times a month, at least according to my spam folder... ;-) 3. The community is not as large as in other projects but it's good and also is increasing rapidly. I haven't been able to participate much lately (I've been a bit overwhelmed with other stuff) but I'm trying to keep an eye on what's happening and feel great to see all the newbies getting answers from the "rookies"/"juniors" (the newbies from a year ago). :-) 4. There are a few known companies using qooxdoo [3] and a lot more which probably aren't listed (such as my own) for various reasons: sensitive/private applications, boss didn't yet approve it (my case), lazy developer forgetting about it, liar developer telling his boss/colleagues he made all by itself (hope not!), etc. :-) So, if you still have doubts after reading this, just crawl through the mailing list because there are lots of related threads such as comparing qooxdoo to other frameworks, asking things like you did and over real use-cases which aren't listed in the already stated page.
