IE8 is still pretty new. Not all of its idiosyncrasies have yet been found.
Be sure to report *each and every* IE8-specific problem you find, so that,
as you expect, developing in Firefox will end up yielding a
perfectly-working application even when it's run in IE8. If you work around
the problems in your app, someone else will likely encounter the same
problem without it ever getting fixed properly in the framework.
