I tried your suggestion Oliver, it didn't work for me like that, but it
helped me find the solution in my case. I'm using Selenium IDE and it worked
using this settings:

command: assertEval
target:selenium.getQxObjectFunction("qxh=app:child[0]/child[4]/child[1]/child[0]/child[26]","isValue");
value: false

 Regarding the problem with windows locators I use setSpeed=500 at the
beginning of the script. I don't think that the problem in this case is
timing, because even when I used setSpeed=1000 I encountered this issue.
When I run the scripts manually I have the same problem, sometimes a window
responds to a locator and sometimes it doesn't.
