Yep, first I thought: that is my answer.

So I moved my target directory into my user's directory: cannot create application Then I even moved the qooxdoo-sdk into the user's area: cannot create application

It seems that this is not the answer.

Thanks for more hints
Klaus

Hi Klaus,

Windows 7 blocks write access to (most of) the C: drive if the program does not have administrator priviledges. Windows XP does not. Maybe your problem has something to do with that?

Have you tried creating the application in another drive (D:) or in your My Documents folder (to which you have full access)? Alternatively, you can try starting an elevated command prompt.

Marc

I rechecked everything.

This seems to be the result of the analysis:

Application creation on my Win7 64Bit computer (running Python 32Bit or 64Bit) does not seem to work.

I installed the very same configuration on my Win XP 32Bit machine, and it works.

This is not a real solution for me, as I need to do my development on my 32 Bit machine.

Any idea, what I can do?

Thanks
Klaus

Thanks Thron7,

good points. But I have done all you mentioned:

1. I allways try commands in both, the powershell and DOS box
2. I ran the command from different locations: From the python directory, the qooxdoo\tool\bin, created target directory, and ran from there
3. I tried many different directories, including just C: or C:\
4. I called Python (althow it reacted nicely with the python -V command) with full path preceeding the command itself
5. I called the command with all items full path

I also re-installed the Python and even the Qooxdoo sdk installation

That is why I am so helpless...

The execution of create-application.py takes less than 1 sec and - as mentioned - produces no output.

Hi Klaus,

mh, I tried on the same platform, but it is working nicely for me ...?!

- which shell are you using?
- did you try running the command in a different directory?
- did you try running the command with a different --out parameter?
- try prefixing the command with 'python', i.e. 'python
create-application.py ...'
- you might need to give the full path to the create-application.py script

I have Qooxdoo installed on a 64bit Windows 7 computer with Python 2.7.

I could create a application. But suddently, it does not perform this
task again. Bo message, no error, just swollows it and says nothing.

I send: create-application.py --name=custom --out=c:\

python -V returns Python 2.7
.py is associated with Python

I really have not plan (but time-pressure) what to do.

Thanks for any help.

Kind regards
Klaus
