If you can strip it down to a small example, it may be clear to Martin or me
what the problem is. You might take a look at the qooxdoo contrib project
SmartTableModel/trunk/source/class/smart/headerrenderer for an example of a
modified header renderer, although it's modified with different intentions
than you have. That one is used for the tree with view menu (in the addons
directory of that same project).
