I have just committed (r23467) a first draft of a mouse wheel speed calculation
not relying on browser detection. This is really a tough topic because it
depends on so much things like the actual mouse, the OS and the browser (and
maybe some other unknown factors). I would really appreciate if those of you
using trunk could just update and check their apps... how they scroll using the
mouse wheel and if it feels ok. The current algorithm is not capable of
bringing all to the same scroll speed but all to a usable interface which is
good. If you are interessted in some more details, take a look at the bug
