Ok, you were faster than my reply with the correction. I hope you got me right
:)

Just checked the bug reports and you are right, we have fixed 15 bugs in opera
in the last 4 month.

http://bugzilla.qooxdoo.org/buglist.cgi?chfieldto=Now&query_format=advanced&rep_platform=Opera&rep_platform=Opera%209&rep_platform=Opera%209.5&rep_platform=Opera%209.6&rep_platform=Opera%2010&rep_platform=Opera%2010.50&rep_platform=Opera%2010.60&chfieldfrom=2010-08-01&bug_status=RESOLVED&bug_status=VERIFIED&bug_status=CLOSED

Looking into the bugs most of them were minor bug fixes, plus some fixes for
demos and tests. Seems like normal maintenance work to me.

Looking forward for the community opinion on this discussion.

Best regards,
Tino

Hi Derrell,

Thanks for your suggestion.

Currently we have only 13 open Bugs for Opera (4 of them are reminder bugs):

http://bugzilla.qooxdoo.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&rep_platform=Opera&rep_platform=Opera%209&rep_platform=Opera%209.5&rep_platform=Opera%209.6&rep_platform=Opera%2010&rep_platform=Opera%2010.50&rep_platform=Opera%2010.60&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=REOPENED

Most time we get the bug reports directly by mail or internal, that's why there
are so much opened bugs by the core members.

Our efforts to support Opera have several reasons:

1. qooxdoo is supposed to be a cross browser framework - that is why we will
always try to support all major browser. "Unfortunately" a lot of companies,
that earn money with qooxdoo based products, see Opera as one of them (2.4% of
25 million costumers is still a lot).
2. Opera is (exclusive) present on many devices (Wii, Nintendo DSi, mobile
devices)
3. Opera is getting better and better. The speed of the JavaScript engine is
always increasing. In my opinion a great browser, worse supporting.

Nevertheless, be assured that we only spent so much time for Opera as it is
worse it.

Ok. Since I look (or at least glance) at every bug report, every commit, and
every message to the developer mailing list, I tend to get the big picture of
what's going on with the project. It "seems" like an inordinate or
inappropriate amount of time has been spent recently on Opera, so I thought it
worth bringing up for consideration. It sounds like you do have some reason for
supporting it. I'm not sure I'd agree with your justification since (100 -
2.4)% of 25 million customers is a much larger number than that 2.4% of 25
million, and therefore worthy of a much greater amount of devoted time, but I
guess you're thinking about that and managing the time spent on it.

Happy new year!

Happy New Year to you and the rest of the core team!

Derrell
