Hi Josef,
Mustafa is right: in order to avoid a gap between the border of a window
and its content you can use the window's contentPadding method, e.g.
startWin.setContentPadding(0);
And to style your menu bar the way you described you might want to add
the following statements:
var decorator = new qx.ui.decoration.Single(1, "solid", "black");
menubar.setDecorator(decorator);
menubar.setBackgroundColor("#003C93");
menubar.setTextColor("white");
IMHO, qooxdoo's layouting and themeing capabilities are outstanding,
very flexible and easy to use - once you've come to grips with the basic
principles which are explained in the documentation and which can be
explored with various examples from the demo browser.
