That is the recommended procedure: Just download it as an archive to your local disk, unpack, and reference it as a local library. As for the 'contrib://' entries: If people feel that would be of help I wouldn't mind an enhancement bug calling out for a config option to disable the update check after some initial download of the contrib. Maybe that would be the least hassle. As for the availability of the service: I haven't found a good alternative to the ViewVC service of SF, in order to check for updates of a contrib. And besides the recurring availability issues with it, there is an emergency situation with SF right now (as I mentioned in another mail) where they have completely taken down several of their services, ViewVC being one of them [1]. I don't know when they will bring it back online. T.
