Hey,
thats the way it is since the beginning of that code. I can't recall the reason 
for it right away but thats true for all widgets having a selection interface 
and not just having simple values like TextFields e.g. Maybe there is a way to 
include that for single selection. Would be nice if a selectbox could be 
treated like every other form element. I already have some bugs open for the 
form so could be done all in one block. Could you open up a report for that 
feature?
