It will be great if Edu can point me to the resources (software, databases,
etc) that can help.

I'm already at 8% of translation, I'll take a break, my wife promised she
can help by night.

For the strings I've noticed that some of them are strange and some times
funny and was excited to see where they do appear in the gui. this is
normal, developers don't care about messages and comments enough, just as
example see comments int the linux project (source code) especially in its
beginnings.
