Although it's likely far more than you need, you can test the Conditional
Cell Renderer demo at
http://demo.qooxdoo.org/current/demobrowser/#table~Table_Conditional.html to
see whether it properly renders the different colors. Assuming it displays
correctly, you can then look at the source code for that renderer to see how
it's doing it.
