But as I mentioned previously, I cannot add a listener on the appear event,
since the window appears BEFORE all the widgets are added to it, and as a
result the centering uses the wrong window size to calculate its target.
What actually happens is that the window appears as a small square, then
gets centered, then grows to accommodate all the other widgets which are
added after its appearance.

Is there a way to suppress its appearance until after all widgets has been
added? This will probably solve all my problems...
